Kate and Megan are authors dedicated to the craft of writing history. They publish weekly podcasts with historians (100+ episodes!), as well as book reviews and essays on their website, and an insider newsletter.

They wanted their brand to feel like “that great history professor who makes you love history.” We pulled inspiration from vintage book covers, periodicals, and the rich history of publishers with little animal logos 🐧🦊🐓🦉

The owl mascot is Athena – an adorable and curious burrowing owl. Unlike other owl species, they spend most of their time on the ground – nesting in repurposed burrows created by other grassland animals. She represents wisdom and knowledge.
